Andaman and Nicobar Islands

Situated in the Bay of Bengal around 620 miles from the mainland is the archipelago of islands known as the Andaman and Nicobar islands. There are three different and distinct ecosystems ranging from mangroves, tropical forests to corral reefs which have a variety of plants, animals and amazing diving sites. These islands are an amazing place to enjoy adventure sports and water sports to your hearts content.

Scuba diving in the Andaman and Nicobar islands is the place where you will experience the wonders of nature first hand, one of the richest coral ecosystems in the world is here and it is preserved in a pristine condition for adventure sports enthusiasts to enjoy.

There is an amazing variety of sharks ranging from hammerhead to nurse and leopard sharks. Manta rays, Silvertips and Oceanic white tips can also be seen in this amazing potpourri of crystal clear sea.

Dive sites:

Havelock Island: It is situated 34 miles northeast of Port Blair and has a well stocked main market. There are underwater rock formations and reefs waiting to be discovered in the tranquility of these islands calm and protected waters.

The wall: This dive is suitable for amateurs and professionals (adventure sports enthusiasts) as the site is sheltered between islands. The site is situated on the southern end of an underwater ridge where you will come across hard corral on the top and soft corral as you descend downwards; there is an abundance of aquatic life with fishes of all shapes and sizes like snappers, stingrays, triggerfish, lionfish, napoleons and schools of barracudas.

Barracuda city: This dive is suitable for professionals and amateurs with a little experience as there are minor currents occasionally present in this area. The site has massive hard corral and rocks intercepted with soft corral which slopes downwards to a sandy bottom. The underwater activity is seen to be believed as blue spotted sting rays, large rays, coral fishes, jack fish, surgeon fish and the occasional sea turtle will accompany you in this dive.

Aquarium: This dive is suitable for amateurs and professionals alike. Hard corral and rocks trail down towards to a sandy bottom as this is a popular breeding area for aquatic life it gives you a diverse range of marine life comprising of potato groupers, hump-back parrot fish, trevallies, napoleons, sting rays and the occasional dugongs accompany you in this dive.

Light house: This dive is suitable for amateurs and professionals alike. This is a suitable place for night diving as well. You will be diving along a sloping corral formation towards a sandy bottom which has a lot of fish life, lion fish and sea cucumbers along side soft and hard corral.

Jackson reef: This dive is suitable for amateurs and professionals alike. This dive has a potpourri of rocks and hard corral ending with soft sandy bottom. There is an amazing variety of sea aquatic life all around you as you take this relaxing dive.

Mac point: This dive is suitable for amateurs and professionals alike. You will be surrounded by hard corral. The crystal clear water will provide great visibility; this dive is a relaxing sojourn.

Pilot reef: This dive is suitable for amateurs and professionals alike. It’s a plateau with hard corral and small ledges which will drop off to a sandy bottom. The chances of seeing white tip and leopard sharks are good there is an abundance of groupers, tuna, jack fish and a lot of critters.

Seduction point: This dive is suitable for amateurs and professionals alike. This rock is full of aquatic life in its full splendor. Stag horn corral and its inhibitors are a must see.

Turtle bay: This dive is suitable for amateurs and professionals alike. The dive is a gentle sloping dive to a sandy bottom which is abundant with sand rays and turtles.
