Royal Orient Train

The magic of the most vibrant states Rajasthan and Gujarat is waiting for you.

The Royal Orient Train will take you back in time as you will travel through the most exotic destinations possible. You will take jungle safaris; take the spiritual route by visiting the ancient temples, check out the Arabian Sea in its entire splendor and enjoy this great journey in all its colors. 

The Royal Orient Train was a joint venture between the Indian Railways and the Tourist Corporation of Gujarat. The experience of The Royal Orient Train is as lavish as its name suggests.

There are 13 coaches and each of the saloons has a different and distinct character, which mirror the previous kingdoms of Rajputana in their entire splendor. The cabins are tasteful decorated and are quite comfortable with attached bathrooms.

The cabins are for 3 people but normally only two passengers are accommodated per cabin taking in view the privacy of the couples.

The Royal Orient Train has a great bar known as the “watering hole” and serves a heady blend of wine and whisky plus the aperitifs.
 
The Royal Orient Train has two multi specialty restaurants, which serve Indian, Chinese, continental and the local traditional Gujarati and Rajasthani food also.

There is a library where you will find a wide variety of books both fiction and nonfiction for your reading pleasure.

The Royal Orient Train has a lounge which gives a great view of the countryside during the daytime travel. There is a TV and a VCR for your viewing pleasure.

The Royal Orient Train has personal livered attendants who are here to take care of your every travel wish and whim.

Schedule

Day 1 Wednesday

Departure from Delhi cantonment at 1500 hrs. Dinner on board The Royal Orient Train. 

Day 2 Thursday

Early in the morning you will arrive at Chittorgarh. Then the visit to Chittor Fort, which is located on top of a hill and covers 240- hectares, the Fort is a symbol of the Rajput bravery, culture and valor.
Then after breakfast you will head for Udaipur the heritage city of Rajasthan, which offers a blend of heritage and breath taking beauty.
Lunch and sightseeing in Udaipur.
Dinner on board The Royal Orient Train.

Day 3 Friday

Arrival at Junagarh. The important places to see here are the Mausoleum of the Nawab Mahabat Khan, the Darbar Hall Museum and the Rock edicts of Ashokan. Today you will also visit Somnath Temple situated on the edge of the Arabian Sea.

Day 4 Saturday

Today you will visit the famous Gir Lion Sanctuary the only remaining habitat of the majestic Asiatic Lion.
Now its time to visit Dilwara; which is famous for its beach at Ahmedpur and Mandvi.
The must visit here are the Diu fort and the St. Paul’s Church.
Dinner is on board the Royal Orient Train.

Day 5 Sunday

Today you will reach Palitana and visit the famous and beautiful Jain temples here.
The Royal Orient Train will then take you to Sarkhej, where you will visit the Vishalla Village to get a feel of the local customs and traditions. Then you will take a bus to Ahmedabad.

Day 6 Monday

Ahmedabad is a tourist’s delight as the old and the new are hand in hand here. The main tourist attractions here are the Gandhi Ashram, Adalaj Stepwell, Sidi Sayyad Mosque and the Calico Museum of Textiles. Dinner is on the Royal Orient Train.

Day 7 Tuesday

After breakfast on board the Royal Orient Train you can check out the beautiful countryside as you roll into Jaipur. You reach Jaipur also known as the pink city which was founded by Swai Jai Singh the second.
The tour of the city portrays Jaipur in its full glory. First stop is Hawa Mahal the icon of Jaipur onwards to Fort Amber and the experience of the elephant ride to the top to check out the architecture and the museum, and then on to Jantar Mantar and the City palace, there are ample opportunities for shopping as well. Dinner is on board the Royal Orient Train.

Day 8 Wednesday

You will have breakfast on board the Royal Orient Train. Then the Royal Orient Train reaches Delhi Cantonment Railway Station and the amazing journey comes to its conclusion.
